Dagger/dagger Catalyst at a glance

The recording uses Elementalist with the Catalyst elite specialization, a dagger in each hand, and the Fire, Arcane and Catalyst trait lines. It focuses on moving between attunements, using combo fields and finishers, and keeping defensive tools available.

The opening footage demonstrates World vs World combat. The spoken guide also covers open-world PvE and a separate PvP equipment setup. It is not presented as a raid, strike or high-tier fractal build; do not treat it as a benchmarked group-DPS setup.

How the playstyle works

In the video, I explain the interaction between Jade Sphere fields, combo finishers and auras before discussing individual skills. Start by learning when to place a field and which dagger skills can finish a combo inside it. Follow the on-screen trait choices in the recording rather than guessing from a trait name.

The guide uses fire for pressure, water for recovery, air for mobility and control, and earth for defensive tools and combo finishers. It is a responsive playstyle: keep recovery and escape options ready instead of spending every cooldown as soon as it becomes available.

The utility discussion includes Signet of Restoration and emergency options such as teleporting away or using Mist Form. The elite-skill section demonstrates resetting weapon-skill cooldowns in the current attunement. These are explanations of the recorded setup; exact durations, boons and mode splits should be checked in game.

Equipment discussed in the video

WvW and open world: the equipment section begins at 19:32. I show full Celestial as the more forgiving option in the recording, then a mixed alternative with Celestial chest, headgear and back item and Marshal’s on the other pieces, with a possible defensive amulet adjustment. The trade-off discussed is healing and damage versus defensive stats.

PvP: the dedicated setup begins at 23:15. Use that section for the PvP configuration rather than copying the WvW equipment list into a different game mode. The guide also discusses runes, sigils and relics; consult the video and current in-game availability before purchasing upgrades.
